17th February 2012

Billa Park's first ever Leading Ladies and Genetics Sale is drawing near, sale date being the 13th April 2012.  The sale will be conducted as an AuctionsPlus-only sale online, giving buyers the chance to bid on lots from the comfort of their home or office in a low pressure environment.
Billa Park will offer 50 female lots along with semen and embryos.  A range of females will be on offer from cows with calves, PTIC females, as well as young heifers.  Due to expansion, the Billa Park herd has experienced a huge growth period – so we simply have no more room, hence the sale of some of our quality animals.  Also on offer will be fully imported semen of Double Bar D Everest, a Canadian polled outcross bull, and the first offering of the Canadian sire Wheatland Bull 680S sired embryos to be available in Australia.  A viewing day for the chance to inspect the lots on offer will occur on-property at ‘Glengyle’, Dulacca Qld, on Easter Saturday and Sunday – 7th and 8th April 2012 (or by prior arrangement).  All genuine bidders and buyers are to register 48 hours prior to the sale on AuctionsPlus.  Online bidding is available only to registered users. Registration is free - visit www.auctionsplus.com.au to register.
Catalogues will be available for viewing on our Auctions page shortly or hard copies will also be available.  Please contact us on the details given here >>  to register your interest in obtaining a hard copy of the catalogue.

Billa Park kicks off the year with a purchase of an outstanding young sire, 14 month-old Waterfront Florian-F242 (ET) from Matt Parker, at Waterfront Simmental's 5th Annual Premier Genetics Sale, Tintinara SA.  Scott considered Florian to be a standout in a line of potential sires he viewed during his time down there, so we are looking forward to his arrival in Qld in the near future.  Considering the complete package this young bull represents now, we are excited to watch him develop further and look forward to some impressive progeny in years to come!

Scott and Claire are proud to announce the purchase of their foundation dam for our BLACK & RED SIMMENTAL venture, Triple C Smarty Pants R.  Due to increasing popularity in Black Simmentals in Australia, we seized the opportunity to add these genetics to our repetoire and co-exist with our ever-expanding family-owned Billa Park Simmental and Simbrah operation.  With this move, we are confident that Billa Park will become your 'One Stop Shop for Simmental Genetics'.

Scott and Claire purchased Smarty Pants in conjunction with Brian Bouchard, Bouchard Livestock International, at the Remington Land and Cattle Final Drive sale in Canada, October 2011.  She was the top-priced Simmental cow at the sale at $22,500.  The polled Smarty Pants is a proven dam, her ET calves already on the gound are a testament to her quality and pedigree.  In addition to the purchase of Smartypants, we also took ownership of 10 LFE Katarina 604N/Wheatland Bull 680S (Canadian homozygous-polled, homozygous-black super sire)   embryos, as well as 5 BBN Ms Queen in Black 11SLFE Black Lakota 385W (Canadian homozygous polled sire) embryos, some of which are currently undergoing a transfer program at a facility in southern Qld.
